A steel float finish is a highly polished, closed face surface that offers high wear resistance and an asthetically pleasing look. It is specified in ‘high public view’ environments such as motorway bridge structures, skateboard parks and under-passes. and requires considerable preparation and ability to produce the required results. To mitigate against potential de-laminations, layers of sprayed concrete are built up gradually, allowing the base layers to reach initial set before the application of the final layer, which is trowelled to a polished finish. |
